2024 SE Colorado 4-H Junior Range Camp June 11-12th in Kim, CO
REGISTRATION NOW OPEN!
Ben Berlinger, Chair of the Youth Activities Committee, and Kim Peters, CSU Extension, have been working hard to create the first ever 4-H Junior Range Camp in Kim, Colorado June 11-12th. Who: The camp is open to 4-H members in the Southeast Area, Las Animas, Huerfano, and Pueblo counties, ages 11-14. What: Come learn about the plants and animals that call southeastern Colorado home and talk to ranchers, scientists, and other rangeland management professionals as they share the ins and outs of their day-to-day life. When: June 11-12, 2024 in Kim, CO. We will begin at 9:00 AM on the 11th. We will conclude at 2:00 PM on the 12th. Agents or parents will be responsible for getting campers to and from camp. We are also interested in any agents or leaders who would like to serve as chaperones. Where: The Mustang Pavilion in Kim, Colorado, a large metal arena/building just north of Kim on 160, you can’t miss it. Registration is open, click here! Payment due at camp. Please fill out the form in the link and bring it to camp with your payment. Details: The cost will be $25, due upon arrival in Kim. Please send your camper with a sack lunch for the day of the 11th. All other meals are covered. We will be camping under the covered arena. Everyone will have access to restrooms. However, campers will be responsible for bringing a sleeping bag and pillow at minimum, and a tent if they desire. Please go through setting it up with them or plan to help them with set up, as tents can be tricky. They will need toiletries and a change of clothes. We will likely be out in the field some. Please make sure they have sturdy, closed toed shoes (cowboy boots, hiking boots), long pants, shirt (I would recommend long sleeve), hat, insect repellent, sunscreen, backpack, water bottle, and anything else they might need. |
